Project Information

First things first, a shout out to todd clippanger's blog which provided me with the dimensions for this table. http://lumberjocks.com/toddc/blog/2503#comment-3744946

The top is figured cherry and the legs are sapele. Joinery is hand cut mortise and tenon. Final finish was dye, thinned blo, shellac and arm r seal.

Wow, stef. Beautiful table. I'd forgotten you actually knew how to use that shop and workbench. :)

Yabba Dabba Doo!..... er….. ahem…. Very nicely done Chris.

That grain really popped and I do like the table proportions.

That's beautiful man.

Like most things about you, I have a hall table fetish.

Did you post on how you tapered the legs.

Lol lys. Youre a beauty. No post on the taper but the inside 2 faces go from 1 5/8" down to 3/4". Cut on the bandsaw and cleaned up with planes.

Much thanks for all the comments gang.

BRAVO !!!
I'm a big fan of cherry, but now I'm a BIGGER fan of dyed cherry.
What dye did you use? Or is that a secret?

No secrets here john. It was early american maple mixed light. That was sanded back quite a bit then it was a coat of thinned blo, spit coat of shellac and 4 coats of arm r seal.
