looks great. how does it feel? hard finish? or does it have some of the wood softness?

Is that amboyna burl? It's gorgeous, nice sheen !! I've seen two different videos using CA and BLO alternating, which goes on as a first coat and last coat? Each video was different.

it's a very hard and durable finish. As for the type of wood, I don't remember what it is called. It was given to me by one of my customers and don't recall what he called it. I do know that it is not amboyna burl. It does start with an A tho.

I asked the guy who gave me the wood. It's an azialla burl (don't know if I spelled it correct or not).

I was hesitant about using a BLO/CA finish at first (was mostly afraid of gluing my fingers together!) but now that I've gotten into it, I wouldn't use anything else.
