Is that amboyna burl? It's gorgeous, nice sheen !! I've seen two different videos using CA and BLO alternating, which goes on as a first coat and last coat? Each video was different.
it's a very hard and durable finish. As for the type of wood, I don't remember what it is called. It was given to me by one of my customers and don't recall what he called it. I do know that it is not amboyna burl. It does start with an A tho.
I was hesitant about using a BLO/CA finish at first (was mostly afraid of gluing my fingers together!) but now that I've gotten into it, I wouldn't use anything else.
