Project Information
Can I still be considered a beginner? I probably wasted a whole Saturday trying to figure out should I attempt this cove molding. Wasn't sure if i was ready for something like this and believe it or not, the glue up was actually the hardest part.
This piece was designed by David Marks on the DIY network. I used poplar and birch because that's all could justify spending while I'm in a learning and experiment stage. The base and the cove molding is over a inch and a half thick, the plans called for most of the other parts to be 7/8 of a inch I went with one inch. The drawers are constructed from birch plywood using dado joinery. I haven't decided on a finish but I'm gonna use "General Finishes" wipe-on and I'm gonna wait until i finish the other pieces to match i.e. bed and night stand.
