Project Information
Hi,
Here's my first major woodworking project - a poker table that I built last year. I had a very limited "collection" of tools at the time, so I did the best with what I had.
It included:
Hitachi Jigsaw CJ110MV
Arrow ETFX50 Electric Stapler
Black & Decker 18v Drill
I also built 3 saw horses out of 2×4's and used 2 rolling dollies that I had from my move to TX.
The table is 8 feet long, just under 4 feet wide, has stainless steel cupholders in the Oak racetrack. The 60lb foam cushioned outer padding is encased in 1 piece of high quality auto grade "pleather" (you wouldn't believe how real the stuff is nowadays)... and the actual playing surface is a piece of 3/4 oak plywood with 1/4" of neoprene, covered in suited speedcloth (has tiny suits on it and the cards fly really nicely - also wears a lot less).
I did use the ready made Rockler base and legs, but made the stretcher bar (and jigsaw'ed the suits out of it) myself. They were actually great quality and helped me greatly!
I finished it off with a band of wood that I tacked in with poker suited furniture tacks…
That's it! My first project… many more to follow, as I've just started my workshop! I bought the R4511 Ridgid table saw, and the Hitachi KM12MC… so it should be fun… I'm still waiting on my Delta 50-760 to arrive so that I don't wind up shoveling again (left NJ for TX 3 years ago, and don't miss that at all)...
I'm still very new… so I hope to get a lot of advice and I'm pretty good at taking some constructive criticism as needed!
Talk to y'all later!
