Project Information
I just completed my 3rd level of stained glass class. I chose to make a stained glass panel showing a female and male Wood Duck, with 110 pieces, and 12 different colors. This project is 22×13 inches, and must be displayed or hung using a wood frame.
I decided to make my own frame from white oak. I have made a lot of picture frames before, but they did not have to bear much weight. This frame needed to be sturdy because the stained glass and solder make a relatively heavy load.
My design uses a brass screw in each corner to hold the 4 sides together. Two grooves in the top use a brass screw to attach the chain for hanging.
If you are interested in my Trials & Tribulations of making both the stained glass panel and the frame to mount it in, see my woodworking web site.
Thanks!
