My wife is going to be mad at you because now I have to take time and try to learn how to do something this nice. But, maybe she'll be happy because it will take me years and it will keep me out of her way. This is amazing.

wow!!! what a piece. I have to admit, I dislike the federal style, with a rabid passion, but this piece is wonderfully done and truly deserves the recognition it is receiving. congrats on this amazing piece.

Thank you to each and every one of you. I appreciate your kind words.

The fan and inlay work was self-taught by watching some videos of Rob Milliard. He shows how to do it. After watching it and then trying it, it was pretty easy to do. I was pretty surprised.

The stringing article in Fine Woodworking by Steve Latta is a good one to learn how to do the legs, too. Again, once I tried it, it was easier than I thought which is why I tried tackling a piece like this.

Again, thank you all for your kind words!!!!!

I've already commented once, but I had to take another look, which is why I saved this piece to my favorites. Very, very nice. I love this piece. I will say it again…well done, sir. Very well done.

I just got my new issue of Fine Woodworking in the mail today (dated October 2016).
There is a great article in there by Freddy Roman that takes you step-by-step through the process of how to make the checkerboard banding you see on my cellarette. It is the same process I used with great results.

Just an FYI in case any of you wanted to check it out.

I have added this to my favourites. I love your work and the detail is fantastic. I enjoy looking at great pieces of furniture as much as I enjoy working in my workshop. I will be coming back to view this piece regularly.
