Well here are a few recent pictures of my new shop layout. The shop is in the basement of my house, purchased in 12/07 (my first house!). I have roughly 2/3 of the basement totaling about 450sf. I have been through a number of layouts in just this short time, but it keeps me thinking about how to be more efficient. I think the latest rendition will stick for a little while. The only issue working in this space is the head room. The height at the bottom of the joists is +/- 6'8" but since i am vertically challenged, its alright.

I'll add some more later on…

Major equipment:
SawStop 3hp, 52" rip capacity.
Jet 16" planer, 3hp.
Performax 16-32
Jet 1100 dust collector with remote
'60's Craftsman 10" TS. (dedicated for use of dado blade)
10" Dewalt chop saw
Delta drill press, benchtop
Delta B.O.S.S. spindle sander
Delta 16" scroll saw (actually belongs to my girlfriend)
14" Ridgid Bandsaw
old Craftsman belt sander
even older delta 12" disc sander.

Enjoy.

Nick, you have a nice shop space in which to work. I like your layout and you have some really nice tools to play with, especially the Sawstop. I have one of the these on my short list and would love to upgrade my Craftsman saw. I like your idea of using two tablesaws and dedicating one of them to dado work. If I had the room in my shop that is the approach I would take as well. But it is going to be hard enough to squeeze a Sawstop with a 52" fence in there.

You have a nice shop. I would enjoy working in there.

Hi Nick,

I agree, Woodworkers Paradise is an awsome supplier of special maple varieties. They also have a decent selection of other great hardwoods. Dave gave me a tour of their shop, it is incredible. They produce some exceptional pieces for sale in their store.

My camp is on lower Richardson lake, which is one of the five Rangely lakes. By the way, your shop is really well set up with a nice layout. I just started to work on my shop, but have a long way to go. My next project ic a new workbench.
