It's just about time to take the show on the road again. Next weekend (Feb. 27, 28 and Mar 1) I'll be exhibiting and demonstrating at The Woodworking Shows Somerset, NJ. It should be a great time! Last year's show was pretty heavily attended and I expect from the crowds I've seen at the other shows this year will be even better. So, come on out and I'll show you how to cut some dovetails. If you attend the show, please stop by the booth and identify yourself. I've had a great time meeting so many other Lumberjocks. If you let me know you're coming, I'll try to have the camera ready when you come into the booth (Karson can't be the only guy posting pics of LJs at the shows). See you next weekend!
I'll also be there on Sunday with the NJ Woodturners group turning tops and such in our booth. I'll probably be there early 10AM ish and in the booth until noon or so. Then, I'm going to walk around and buys stuff
It sure was a pleasure meeting you at the show. It was fun chatting with you and the two other gentlemen on Sunday afternoon. Watching you make the through dovetails inspired me to try your method last night. Worked on some 3/4" inch thick x 6" wide walnut. I laid out, cut and chopped my dovetails just like you did. The method worked perfectly.
Looking forward to giving another go at making a ball and claw foot. I'm just getting into carving now and that's not the easiest project to start with but we got to start somewhere.
The snow storm changed our plans to visit West Chester yesterday (and perhaps you). I'm down that way 4-5 times a year and I'll look you up on my way down Rt 100. Looking forward to attending one of your hands on workshops.
Thank you for all you do in the woodworking community.
Your furniture is so much better in person.
Other Jocks, if you can attend a show where Chuck is presenting, check out his booth! You won't be disappointed.
It was great fun talking with you too. If not for those pesky show patrons wanting to see my demo, we could have continued with working on your ball and claw foot.
I had a great time meeting Lumberjocks this weekend. A few stopped by and identified themselves and talked for a bit. Lumberjocks is a tremendous community with some of the best people I've ever met. My next show is in Chantilly, VA on March 27th, 28th and 29th. If you, or any LJs you know, are the area please swing by the show and say hello. It's great to meet the people behind the posts I read. And if you, or your other Lumberjocks friends, can't make one of the shows I'm attending I highly suggest you organize a Lumberjocks gathering in your area or plan on attending one someone else organizes. You'll be glad you took the opportunity to meet other Lumberjocks. I certainly am.
