    Hi John,

Thanks so much for the kind words and interest in my tutorials; and especially for your recommendation to others.

I think the missing r is uniquely Upstate New Yorker; I am a transplant. So please don't hold it against all Yankees ;<)

    Joe,

I've been frustrated for awhile with many failed attempts to get into Sketchup. I confess, having been an English major in college, and working with words throughout my career as a lawyer, math, technical drawings, angles, and planes (the kind that do not fly), have always been a challenge.

Your beginner Sketchup video series (I found on blip.com) has been an absolutely terrific find. For the first time, someone took the time to give detailed, step-by-step instructions that make sense. Thank you so very much. I recommend your videos without reservation, and hope that more folk will find and make use of them. You have done those of us who struggle with drawing a great service. (This is true, even though you are clearly a Yankee; it's fun to listen to a northerner pronounce only one of the two "r's" in "drawer".)

    Again, thanks so much.

    John

    Hi Charles,

Thanks for the comments on my shop and my woodworking. Much appreciated. I really need to update the pictures of my shop. The floor layout hasn't changed much at all, but I have done quite a bit on dust collection. In fact, I just added a bunch of goodies to my dust collection system just yesterday.

However, I never seem to be able to keep my shop as dust free and spotless as I see in woodworking magazines and DIY TV shows. Those guys must have cleaning maids come in at the end of each day. I don't mind walking around in a pile of hand plane shavings, but I sure would like to know the dustless secret.

    thelt,

Thanks for the kind words. I suspect you are too modest about your woodworking skills and in any case I got started in a serious way only after retirement. So you have plenty of time to get to whatever level you want. And I admire your commiment to woodworking and have enormous respect for both of the careers you chose.

Welcome to LJ's, Joe. I don't think I have enough time left on this earth to even come close to your level of woodworking, but I'm gonna give it one helluva try. Looked at your website and the only thing that came to mind was WOW!
