Project Information

I saw one like this posted recently, and decided to do my own version. I've had an old television box under the workbench for about three years. I throw stuff in it, and never see it again. :)

I started with a rough idea in my head, and designed on the fly as I built. I had a very specific spot to put this, so the overall dimensions were a given. I included some casters so I could roll it around as needed.

The only trouble is that it's almost full already.

nice design…. I like the separators… keeps everything lined up - I used to have scrap in the old shop-vac box… whatever goes in - probably will stay there until the box falls apart and then its a "wow… look at those pieces, I could have used them in some projects I was working on… if only I knew it was there"

out of sight, out of mind. looks like this bin will solve THAT problem

I too have "bits and pieces" in different cardboard boxes around the shop. I get tired of looking at them. Good idea Charlie.

Good idea. I have a whole bunch of scraps I throw in a bin and they're never seen again. Too much work to dig through it. You've inspired me to do something about it. Project!

Oh my gosh!!! This is EXACTLY what I need. I am so glad you shared this charlie. I have been trying to figure out something like this for a long time. This is GREAT!
PEACE!!!

I tried to add this to my favorites, but as usual, I still can't get anything to pop up on my computer. I guess I will always be able to find it on your projects.
Thanks for the great idea

Great project, Charlie. Thanks also for a view of your current wood arsenal. That QS Sycamore and that Cherry (?) with the knot and spalt have "Box" written all over them.

Hey, wheel that baby with its contents up to Cairo, IL when you visit your family… I'd even drive down there to pick it up from you… LOL

... Looks great… pretty handy I bet!

Charlie, this is a really nice project that addresses a "problem" that all of us, who simply cannot bear to let go of any piece of wood, face on a daily basis in the shop. This keeps the offcuts organized and readily available for those "special" projects. I am sure it did not take you very long, after finishing the project, to fill it up. From the looks of this one it looks like you may need another one. :)

I spent and hour last night rounding up wood for a project.
Not sure I got it all either.
This cart could have saved me at least half that time.
Nice idea Charlie!
