Project Information

Christmas has come and gone yet again. This year I made a number of bread boards to give as presents. All in all I made six this year and they were very well received. The one shown above was definitely the best of the bunch, not only because of the handle I added.

Apart from the savings made on the buying gifts these boards have the added benefit of using up a large stock of off cuts that were lying around the workshop (I hate to throw anything out). Another benefit is that they allowed me to practice my "bread board ends", which are not difficult but are easy to stuff up.

While shopping the other day, I noticed the local kitchen supply shop has plain timber bread boards for $80. I might be biaised but I reckon mine are better, but even at this price, I have saved $480 on Christmas Gifts this year.
