Project Information

I love secret compartments, so I built this one for the top of my dresser. I bought some old books at the second hand store, taped them then cut them on my band saw. After I got them all cut the hard part was to get them all to stay together so I used hot glue and a few small pieces of wood. Then I made what looks like an upside down shelf to hold them all. Great idea! Great way to recycle! Great craftsmanship! Not so great spelling - "voila" from the French words "vois" (to see) and "la" (there). Sorry, it is just that I have never seen it spelled that badly. :) But it is a REALLY great project, definitely a favorite! Thanks for sharing.

Love the concept and execution. I have been thinking of some similar secret spots in my own home during a renovation which I will not share here… and BTW I have millions and millions of dollars stored there, plus some Picasso's. ;-)
