Other - Drillnado Drill Press Dust Collection (Rating: 4)

I purchased this product at the Tampa woodworking show. The inventor was at the show and demoed the dust collection. I thought that the dust collection setup had a small footprint. I've tried other methods that just got in the way at the DP.

The cost was $39. Included the quill for attaching to the DP, two housings and additional fittings to secure the quill. At the show, a second housing was provided with the purchase. I'm not sure if that is the case with every purchase.
The two housings are handy. One can be trimmed for larger bits, and the other for smaller bits.

Installation of the quill was straight forward. Just connect to DP and tighten four screws. Don't make it too tight.
The housing then snaps into the quill. I had difficulty getting that just right. But after I did, it was easy to install and remove the housing. If you find that the housing isn't snapping into the quill, loosen the quill until the housing easily snaps.

The dust collection works great. I've used it several times and using a HF DC with 2 1/2 inch hose adapted to 4" hose. I estimate dust collection is 95% or better at the DP. That is with small or large bits. If you are not using the DC, it is out of the way and doesn't interfere with DP use.

There is one problem with the dust collection. On my Ryobi DP 102L bench top drill press, the housing blocks the laser from reaching table. Tried adjusting the laser, but didn't help. The only solution is to remove housing, align laser and re-install housing. Although it is easy to install housing, it is a pain when many holes have to be drilled to remove it, align laser to desired point on wood and then re-install housing. If your DP doesn't have a laser, it won't matter.

I would recommend this product because it has excellent DC and small footprint. I thought the price was OK. Although there are only a few pieces, they are well engineered. Also, wanted to encourage the woodworking start-ups to create new products. If you depend on a DP laser, just beware of how it has to be used. If the laser would continue to work without removing the housing, would be 5 starts instead of 4.
