Project Information

Created scalloped picture frames for wife's pictures depicting Balinese dancers.

Construction:
- Used RAS to cut coves across 1×12" board
- Rip board into create rails and stiles
- Use RAS with dado head to cut lap joints in to rails and stiles
- Use 15 deg chamfer bit in router on outside of rails and stiles
- Glue up frame
- Use rabbet bit to cut inside rabbet on frame
- Finish using black anline dye and 2 coats of minwax satin poly
- Put in picture glass
- Put in matte board
- Put in picture taped to backer board
- Use framing brads to hold in backer board

The frames are nice, they compliment you wife's work, which is wonderful. Really captures the grace of the dance. Great combination of talents.

i really like the way the light plays off those cove's you put on the frames, they almost look like they were air brushed on. nice job !!!

Way to think outside the box (er frame). A great concept and design and fantastic implementation. Your wife's work is also very impressive.
