That is nice. I could use one about three times that size for fire wood. Might have to steal another idea I found on Lumberjocks.

Paul, the grain and coloration of this piece is wonderful. I can well understand why you put it in the entryway since this is one of the first things that visitors will see when they come in. It really is an eye catching piece.

How did you finish the box?

I'm really liking this wood , and it makes it nicer that it is free. The lid on this box is from some older fire wood , they think about 10 yrs. old. The finish is Watco Med. Walnut then 3 coats of wipe on poly satin.

Paul the wood is beautiful, but I especially like the use of the smaller branch pieces for corner and leg stands, lid holder…..really creative…...........yoda

thanks rick and jim … rick i try and attach all of the hinge and leg pieces with dowels and glue it's probably over kill in some parts . most of the time they are concealed but some times i make them part of the design.
