Project Information
My son and daughter-in-law asked me to build a toy box for my grandson. They gave me some dimensions but left it up to me what it should look like. Since they treasure him so much as the rest of us, I thought a treasure chest would be cool. I made it out of used bamboo flooring I removed from my sister-in law's house and some ambrosia maple I had for awhile. I reversed the floor planks so the rough side was on the outside and smooth side inside. It gave it a rugged look and my wife and I were happy with it. They wanted it to support someone sitting on it so I reinforced the top a bit. It's 36''w x 20'' d x 20'' h. Bought the hardware from Rockler. Finished with gloss Varathane polyurethane. Thanks for looking.
We will be giving it to them for Christmas.
