Project Information

Marc,

I came across your website last year, which lead me to the Lumberjocks website and I have found a community of people who share my passion. Thank you for all of your work as well as the work of all the skilled craftsman on this site who help those of us still on the front side of the learning curve. Your podcasts are fantastic because they are filled with legitimate information while being wrapped in humor. Excellent work.

These cutting boards were made as gifts and although I hadn't yet finished the "cheese board" for my Mom when she opened it I think the picture says it all, she liked it!!! Priceless!

Keep up the great work,

Mike

That is indeed a priceless picture. These boards make wonderful gifts and provide a challenge from a woodworking standpoint as well. What is not to like about that!!!

Great job, Mike.

That picture is going to go down in history as one of the reasons that we do this.
I just love it.

Well done! Just go easy on the accolades for Marc there. It can be sort of like feeding Gremlins after dark…

Great job!

although I hadn't yet finished the "cheese board"

Isn't that how it goes, I was applying finish to things on Christmas Eve, and literally made 2 pens on Christmas morning. Great job!

awwww that is just so sweet. Thank you for posting these pics. I just love the look your mom has on her face :)

And just for clarification if you feed a gremlin after dark nothing happens, its the mogwai you have to watch out for ;)

Dude that is indeed priceless! I have seen that look before but its usually because I said something inappropriate. lol. It looks like you made a few dimension changes and the proportions look great! Nicely executed! Thanks so much for sharing.

A great trio of boards. I need to make a few. My wife says all of the children are asking for cutting boards.

Yea,

Although Mom's reaction meant the world to me, she didn't appreciate me showing her reaction to the world! Thanks everyone for the kind words. Needless to say this has been a fantastic project and I will certainly be making more of them in the future.

Tex- I completed this project using the design and techniques taught to me by a pro via a free 2 part podcast AND I could ask him questions too…Well, I thought the least I could do is say- Thank you!

Really nice looking finish on those boards. The glue-ups really look good, very crisp.
