Project Information

I carved this Welsh Love Spoon over the course of about 4 weeks in my hotel room, working on it two nights in any given week. It is made from Lindenwood and measures approximately 12 5/8" long. For those of you who missed it, I wrote a 5 part blog detailing what each element means and how I went about carving each part. http://lumberjocks.com/Brit/blog/64922

Thanks for looking.

Thanks again guys. I'm really enjoying these little projects that take place in my hotel room. There is something very gratifying about making something just because I want to and that has no practical use whatsoever other than to expand and hone my skills. Before starting these projects, I was resenting the fact that my job took me away all week and prevented me from working wood. Now I actually look forward to my time away and it totally takes my mind off of work.

Thank you Mike. That chain was so fiddly to sand and file it took an eternity. I can't see me doing one of those again in a hurry. Still at least I can tick it off my bucket list now.

Very nice, I have a dragon love spoon that's been half done for over a year. It was started when I was traveling a lot for work, but has been sitting on a shelf since I changed jobs.

That is so beyond my abilities. Carving to me is like drawing. Not using enough tools.

Thanks Gene. You do need a lot of patience that's for sure, but once you know the techniques it isn't really that difficult.
