Project Information
After getting my Dremel in April, I purchased a couple of 1/4" poplar planks to practice on and this is the result of my first effort. This project is my very first carving and very first hair fork and I am still rather proud of it.
Since I have never been around anyone else who works with wood, I'm quite ignorant in the "how to" of doing certain common things, so to cut my pieces out, I used the regular cutting bit (looks like a drill bit to me) to make holes all the way around the object I wanted to cut out, then used the same bit to smooth and shape the piece. Then I just went nuts with the sand paper.
I finished it with a couple of coats of krylon crystal clear. It's smooth as glass and I love to hold it and just rub it. Sort of therapeutic.
