Project Information
During my career in the US Navy, I kept all my insignia (and there are lots of that) in zip lock bags, adrift in drawers, etc. Then, 12 years after I retired a friend suggested I design this box. It seemed a perfect match for the ShopBot Desktop CNC machine, and since then I've made around 20 boxes on commission. Seems to be a popular piece, and I only wish I had one of these when I was on active duty!
Naval Officer Insignia Box
Walnut with Brass Hardware
Lacquer Finish
12"W x 10"D x 3" H
The box contains two compartments to securely hold the various insignia and medals required of the uniform. The top is carved with the insignia of the officer's specialty, the inside lid is carved with the officer's name (and rank if desired) and branch of service, and the compartments are individually labeled for the various insignia devices. View options here.
