Project Information

I just installed some trim I made to cover the top of the backsplash on my kitchen countertops. It is made from cherry, maple and black walnut. I glued together six sections sized 2 3/4 inches thick and 12 inches long. Then I glued those 12 inch long sections together to create one long 72 inch piece. Then I covered it with thin layers of walnut and cherry on each side. Then I cut it in 5 pieces at 1/2 inch thick. After sanding off the saw marks and varnishing them all I had to do is cut them to length and nail them to the wall.

That is beautiful and I never would have thought of it either. It gives me ideas on doing similar types of accents on cabinets and furniture too. Thank you for describing how you produced it and posting. Nicely done!
