I really like this design and the woods you used.

Beautiful. Would love to see in progress photos if you have any.

The process for these seems simple enough, but execution seems like it could be difficult to get tight joints at the curved sections. One day, when I get a band saw, I want to try this style.

I just finished some Skateboards like this. I would be interested in hearing how you went about it. On mine I made a pattern, used turners tape to hold it down. I used my router with a guide collar and 3/8 bit and went down about 3/8 of in making a channel. I then took to bandsaw and cut in the middle of groove and then used a pattern bit to remove the other waste. I lightly sanded and glues 3 1/8 strips in making the first curve.

The joints come real well.

Great board.

The contrast is awesome!

What glue did you use? I've made a few of these and usually go with epoxy to give me enough time to get everything covered and aligned. If you used PVA glue (Titebond, etc.) you must move like the 'Flash'.

Thats pretty much the same process I used Ken. I used PVA glue, wasn't too bad for working time, need to have everything ready, clamp and a couple love taps with a mallet to get everything aligned just right.

Very nice touch : )
I like how you put the "decoration" out of harms way and left enough room to still have a useful board.

Love it. Very nice work. My first attempt at this type of board was not this nice. I'll have to give it another go :)

wiser, the padauk is 1/4' wide and the two maple strips are 1/8" wide.
