Knife maker saws
DIY quick and clean

This is a quick and clean project, no measures are needed, no special wood, no skills.
When making knifes the Scandinavian way, you need some saws to hollow out for the blade tang and you need different types.
I have found out making these from jig- or construction saw blades gave me a chance to make what ever type I needed quick and on the cheap.

Also fine keyhole saws.

Here you can see a Scandinavian style knife and there are a link to a blog about the making:

Pictures:
1. A few of my little saws, handles from scrap or old handles I did not use.
2. Shaping the blade, can also be done with a stone or a grinder, just make sure to keep it cool, so it will not loose it's hardening.
3. Drill a hole in handle.
4. Use the saw to saw a fitting opening.
5. Glue in with epoxy.
6. Here they are in my old shop and big brother watching.

Hope it can be to some inspiration,

Perfect timing!! I need to make a new, thin parting tool for small lathe projects and couldn't decide on how to mount the blade in the handle. You save the day!

Thanks, Mads!

great little project Mads - it's always nice to use your tools to make more tools - I actually made one last month while working on a knife project

Which reminds me I should really finish that knife.
