Project Information

This one isn't the prettiest, but it works. 2×4 Frames with 2×2 runners for the tools to slide in on. Each tool is bolted to a piece of 3/4 plywood. In the third pic, you can see the clamp racks on the end. Two openings are holding scraps and templates right now but give me room to add more tools. The last pic shows the cabinet I made to set them on to use. It fits under the left side of the table saw when not in use and will hold push sticks, my TS miter gauge, Saw blades, etc.

I was thinking about doing something similar but in a cabinet base. Very cool idea for a small shop.

Looks good. When possible, vertical storage is the way to go. You have a nice bit of storage there with only a minor footprint. Good thinking. Only suggestion I might make is to swap spots between the mitre saw and one of your wood stacks. If it is as heavy as mine, you will want to be able to reach it with your back straight and not lift it when you are bending over.

That is nice, it helps out with those bench top tools that can be really hard and awkward to store and keep out of the way.

David- It may be hard to tell inthe pic, but the miter saw is close to the height of the cabinet to use it on. Both are about waist heght to me. That's why the miter saw and the planer are at the heights they are. I can pull them out without bending over or reaching up. Those two are the heaviest in the rack.

Great idea! I need to build something for all my movable tools that I just mounted on plywood. I bought a Jawhorse and now fitting my tools to it. Thanks for the idea!

I need this badly thanks for sharing. Been trying to figure out how to store my tools that fit in an identical spot in my workbench. Couldn't figure out where to store them when not in use.
