Project Information

So I finally finished the kitchen table I always promised myself. I found the right materials; the workbench from my childhood home basement was made from 1 3/4" T&G pine planks. So I cleaned it up and made my version of a trestle table. I removed the nails during fabrication - but I replaced them right before finishing with oil base poly

I'm a sucker for bread board ends any time … Boy, if this old bench could talk … The stories it would tell.
What a unique and one of a kind piece, love it.

I read the title and was afraid I would see a beautiful old hand tool workbench sitting in a kitchen. What a pleasant surprise!

It's cool that you could re-purpose this piece of your past and you did a great job making it all flow together. The trestle looks as if it could have been sitting under that top for over 50 years. Right style, proportion and feel.

Very well done!
