Project Information
I saw this type of chair while browsing the internet with some simple plans. I was really interested in its look and pure simplicity. I made the whole thing out of one 2×12x8 and some threaded rod.
After what seemed like an eternity of sanding and assembly, the chair turned out to be exceedingly comfortable. It folds up easy enough and was fun to make. I cut the threaded rod down after cinching it up nice and snug, then I hammered the ends to prevent coming loose.
The family got a kick out of it and a wave of requests came flooding it. This was my prototype attempt and I think if I were to make more I would go with treated lumber to prevent rot.
Thanks for looking
