Project Information

This is another of the series from my trip to Mata Ortiz Mx.
This is a piece of wood that was given to me while in Tucson by one of the Southwest Arizona Woodturners Guild. He told me it was pecan He stopped by a couple of days later and saw that I was struggling with the hollowing of this 11 inch piece. He laughed and said when Pecan is dry we call it Pcreate. Finally done and very happy with the entire piece

Nice one Ron. You must have listened to the guy at the guild when he said he wanted you blue vase in red!!

That pecan is hard to turn when it is real dry, You did a beautiful job on this one, too!!

What do you hollow with? A boring bar or can you reach in that far with that Carter system??

Cheers, Jim

Ya Jim I still do work for Carter Products and used the small hollow roller for this project. They have several sized bars and it allows you to go to about 12 inches. I also have the large bar and it can go 30 inches. You should come out an play.
