Project Information

Many thanks to fellow LJers Chris Pine and Lew for techniques on
making rolling pins!

I was watching Chris on You Tube:

and figure I'd give it a go. Thanks Chris!

Further research yielded a Celtic knot incorporated into a rolling pin
from LJer Lew:

Thanks for the great blog Lew!

The handles were a little tricky to make but after several attempts
I kinda figured it out. Maybe some day they'll be concentric.

Finished with mineral oil and more rolling pins on the way as they're
fun to make and give as gifts.

Very nice indeed! Do you cut at that steep diagonal 4 times with your sled? How big is your pin?

Thank you Wiser1934 and Drbyte!

That's correct Dennis, I cut the pin 4 times.
The pin is 1 foot long with 4 inch handles give or take an inch or two.

Lew's blog gets into the details on how to cut and glue and I just kinda of
winged it. Once you understand the way it works you'll have a lot of fun
making the pins.

This is simply beautiful, and as a part time baker, I'm very envious!
