Project Information

One 4 ' x 8' x 3/4" sheet of Maple plywood = a nice new tool cabinet. I have incorporated french cleats to organize the tools. Now it's time to build cleat gadgets… I have posted a picture of some ideas I got from some folks postings, but I am open to any other ideas folks have for gadgets.

Nice cabinet! I have done up a bunch of custom holders, but am still amazed at how many different things you can hang from 2 inches of dowel coming out at a 10 degree raise. Ive probably made 50 of them. The few things that need somehting custom get it, but those dowels are my go to.

Nice cabinet.
I have a swing open cabinet with a flat surface in front like you show in photo #2.
I had to go back and raise the cabinet so that the doors would quit knocking everything off the flat space … But now I rarely find the doors closed.
I like your choice of wood, it's bright and cheery, and I think the cleats will see lots of use.

I see your point about knocking things off the flat space, good point. This is not my primary work space, but if I ever switch it out, I will need to consider that. Thanks…

That is a nice looking cabinet. good size and the cleats are an excellent idea. If you decide you need to move things around, just unscrew a cleat or two and vola, new configuration. Very good looking and smart too. I like it.
