Project Information
i made this cutting board following the instructions in fine woodworking magazine. Cant say it worked like a charm, as I had to scrap the other one. Didn't have access to bandsaw and when cutting along the routed groove with my jigsaw, the blade bent so much that it went "outside" the groove on the other side of the board. For the same reason, I didn't get to cut this board from the planned area, and thus the design of the strips is now more or less random (I had a longer board and I planned to cross cut it in half, but now I had to cut out the bad areas and this was the "residual")
I might try to rescue the other one by routing a groove twice as wide along the ugly seam. Or just cut some coasters from the good areas…
The wood is maple, with walnut strips.
