Project Information
Inspired by Kludge and his very informative post and video. we decided to do some of these to offering them to one of our clients. we did them out of scraps from different woods, rosewood and the other local ones. I tried to glue them with hot silicone but that dd not hold very well. so i went with epoxy, which i had to clamp with some very high tech clamping devices as you can see in the photos.
the narrow ones were made in the scroll saw. the wide ones (heart and leaf) i cut the pieces a little thick (3/4 in i think) and then with the sander to make it thinner as possible.
some have poly finish, others lineseed oil, as we have clients that like shiny things and other prefer matte finish.
the heart and the leaf are inlay and for ribbon i got the a ribbon box pattern from Steve Good, i just made it smaller as it was too big for a hair clip.
thanks
Nayo.
