Project Information

I finished this cabinet a couple months ago but just getting around to posting. It was commiissioned by a good friend of mine who needed a storage upgrade and wanted to incorporate his ipod dock.

The case is 3/4" mahogany plywood edged with 3/8 mahogany hardwood. Its hard to tell in the photos, but it has a slight bevel around the front edges. The doors are 1/2" mahogany ply with harwood runners for the sliders and handles that are inlayed into the door fronts. The base is also made of hardwood and the speaker cover was made from a strip of oxblood speaker cloth for a Fender tweed amp. For the finish I used three coats of wipe on poly and paste wax.

Would be happy to hear any comments or questions anyone has on this piece.

Thanks,
Jason

Excellent job matching the grain across the cabinet. very nice!

It reminds me of the cabinets from the 60's.

By the way, what's a record? :)
