Project Information

Solid walnut stools - These were made extra tall for a client in Pinehurst, NC. All walnut joined at the stretchers withe handmade floating tenons (no domino yet!) using the Paolini shop made mortiser. Seat and back are scalloped out with a router and jig then scraped, sanded, scraped and sanded….

This was the client's design…maybe a little too clunky for my taste

Finished with a couple of wipings of watco dark mahogany and 3 coats of water based poly.

The seat an back also have a 5 degree angle to make them more user friendly….turned out very comfortable.

Tall stools are on my list of things I need to make. Thanks for the example. Those look nice.
