Project Information
My oldest son said that he wanted to build some Adirondack chairs for his girlfriend's parents and asked if I would help him. It was so nice to be able to share some time in the shop, as we have not had the chance to do much of, since he is in school about 2 1/2 hours from home. Had a blast building them together.
These are built from pressure treated lumber, and the seats, arm rest and back boards are 5/4" stock. They are all glued and screwed together and are very solid and will no doubt last for many years. They are very solid and heavier than most, so the wind cant blow them over. LOL
These are a design that I came up with some years ago, and everybody says they are the most comfortable chair that they have sit in. The key is the relief cut in the seat as well as the angle for the seat and back rest. Folks with really bad backs can sit in these all day and be comfortable.
