Bunmawashi
Japanese marking compass

I post my post no 200, amazing how time is running and that so many blogs and posts have been made from me playing with wood and trying to understand how to work it.
I will like to thank you all here on LJ, for all the inspiration you have given me, good advice, friendships and kind words that kept me posting.

This is a Toshio Odate inspired compass.

I dedicate the blog to all my friends here at LJ and since it is my 23 blog on Japanese tools of course also to Toshio Odate, who has been such a huge inspiration to me.

The post is pictures from the blog:

That looks quite handy Mads and you did a nice job making it. It is wonderful that a woodworker can actually make most of his tools with a very sparse amount of steel involved. As usual you are making our woodworking experience richer by introducing us to new/old tools and ideas. Thanks much for that. Your contribution to LJ is certainly appreciated by so many of us. Congrats on your 200th blog!

Thanks for another beautiful and inspiring tool! I found your little maker's mark in the photos, but no pipe this time? But please don't smoke it-it is just a photo prop-we need you around to keep us inspired!
