Project Information
The Hall Tree that I built last year is my favorite piece that I've made. After selling it I decided that I would make another one for myself.
There are only a few changes from my original design, the biggest for me is the connection between the vertical piece and the trunk. In the last picture you can see how wing nut screws go through the top of the trunk and into threaded inserts in the bottom of the corbels. This easily secures the whole hall tree together, but more importantly it allows the piece to come apart in two sections so that I can move it myself (one section at a time).
The wood is Ovangkol and the finish is teak oil.
Dimensions:
Height - 206cm
Width - 82cm
Trunk height - 47cm
Trunk depth - 44cm
