A workbench from salvaged wood?
Well at least the wood came from such things as a dumpster. Cut a few things
Had to cut a place for some legs to go.
and a few cut-outs about 4" up from the leg's bottom edge. A stretcher was needed between the two legs.
And after all the legs, and stretchers are assembled, time to make a toolwell area too. A 5/4Ă—3-1/2" piece off an old door, for a front apron, regular 2Ă—4s for the ends and a 2Ă—4 for the back apron. Had some lap joints to mill on the ends of the front and back aprons
A piece of salvaged 1Ă—3 strapping was attached to the bottom of the back apron, and a piece of plywood( salvaged from a footboard of an old bed) was screwed to the stapping piece. Assembled all the parts
Starting to look like something, now. Added some feet to the legs. Had two pieces of 1Ă—6, and some leftovers from the door piece. Screwed them onto the legs.
Cost of a box of 2" screws and about 6 hours working on the back patio area. ( screws were almost $7 at Lowes, wife tried to get them for $2 ar wallyworld, they didn't have any left) and then a few hand planes to smooth the top of the bench
A nice, cheap bench for the Dungeon Shop..
