Project Information

First post for quite a while, this is a little bunch of various shapes, they are not my design but a copy of a some work by a very well known English turner David Sprignett.
These would have to be one of the best exercises in finding out how accurate you think you can turn, all the pieces are turned from two pieces of timber pre glued together, turned then split, & the centre of rotation turned then re glued to produce some fascinating results
The accuracy comes when you rotate the two halves & match up opposite faces, a millimetre difference results in a no match & another reject for the fire box :)
Pic 1 & 2 are a 3 branch Streptohedron.
Pic 3 & 4 are Spherion
Pic 5 is a Hexagon.
I will have a few others to post later, any comment welcome
Pete

Geesh Pete - those look tough to do - Cool though.
I bet they are great to hold and roll your fingers over them. They just seem touchable.

I like them,
Steve

I think you passed the test Pete.
You are a machine!
Everyone should have one of those in their pocket, like a "worry stone".
They look very smooth.

Pete, These are awesome, I can work out the last two but not the first one. I do have Dave's book, and I'm sure that I will have a go sometime.
Thanks for the stimulation.

I like these! I can see where precision is key to making these and you did perfect! I am not even going to try since I already have my firewood for this coming winter.

Wow Pete
You got my mind boggled with these and I would like to see how you turned them.
The first one is my favorite ,it has me fascinated by the shape and the combination of the wood you used.

Pete, As usual you are really on top of things and you have gone to the head of the class with these. I know these just didn't happen, a whole lot of planning went in to make these little jewels. Great Job!!!

Thanks for sharing
