Project Information

Just finished up a couple of knives and gouges for a friend.
Gouges are turned from mahogany and knives are from some left overs from a cutting board, then laminated to black walnut for the center.
Finished in poly.
Blades are also hand made and ground to fit the carvers needs.
Hopefully she will like them.
Thanks for viewing
God bless
Jim

Sweet looking knives Jim. Nice shape on the handles and the cutting edges look very sharp and ready to use.

Jim…. those are beautiful. I would not even know how to start making a carving knife (or use one). But these sure make me want to try. You can leave 'hope' out of it. She will LOVE them!

Great looking tools Jim. The look very beautiful but they look like they can withstand some serious abuse and would be very comfortable to handle!!

Thanks everyone
Terry I think you should have one in your collection… a pm could fix that. The best way to learn is by having one. But I'm sure you wouldn't have any problems using them.
Mike I hope those knives are holding up for you.
Thanks again for all the comments.

Very nice. You said you made the blades too? How, if you don't mind my asking. That seems like a huge skill set in and of itself.

Nate….your correct. Learning to make blades was a huge challenge to overcome. After getting the correct tools to produce the blades it is much easier.
