Project Information
As part of my three younger kids summer home schooling, I decided to put them to the work on this project. They are ages 11, 9 and 7 at the time. First off, I was surprised how hard it was to find the plans-they are scarce. We looked over the plans and off to The Borg to get a few pieces of poplar. There was simple addition and subtraction to make the cut list. Fractions were needed to figure out the depth of grooves and where to set stop blocks. There were even some 45 degree angles that required a little extra thought for assembly. Each of them got to learn the right way to use a table saw, drill press, router, hand drill and pin nailer. Overall dimensions are 32"x32"x8". Sanded to 120 and no stain. A marble may jump the track here and there but it was a great way to have some personal time with the little ones.
