Project Information
My friend Russ is a very talented person. He builds computers and is a very good musician. His other talent is thinking up things for me to build him.
He has a Hammond SK1 organ but would really like to have a SK2. This has both the key board and organ as one unit. So this is what he wanted built that would let him have the SK1 unit on top with an older key board on the bottom effectually giving him a SK2 unit at half the cost.
The wood is mahogany from our old church pews with a clear spray lacquer finish. Made a template for the end pieces and straight forward tongue and groove for the shelf pieces.
It was a fun project and I now have four more gigs of ram in my computer. Bartering is great. Every one is a winner.
The first pic is his finished unit and the last one is the high price unit. He does not even come close to looking like the girl in the picture. Buy the way the Hammond SK2 cost $2,850.00, the SK1 $1,895.00. He got a lot for four gigs of ram.
