Project Information

Well its raining again in Sunny Brisbane so you know what that means…idle hands lead to mischief!

Being thoroughly bored I checked out my favourite website (that's LJs by the way!) and saw some bird houses in fact some very extreme birdhouses.

So having one myself I thought I had best do a post of it.

Back in 2009 I built two birdhouses I installed the one in the pictures and sill have the kit for the second ready to go.

Its mounted in a tree which has some of my protected plants of my Tropical Rainforest plants all around it so its got to be the best location in Brisbane!

So what's with the extreme I hear you say ! well its extremely useless, it has never been inhabited by any birds yet!

My bird feeder on the other hand has a royal Doulton feeding bowl and attracts just about every bird in the area, pity its raining as it would be full of birds.

I also have one of the rarest birds in my yard and from my research is one of a kind and doen't eat much at all.

Edit: Forgot to add there is an owl that lives in the other tree !

P.S. I guess John in Belgrave Ontario Canada will be contacting me for the plans, or rolling about in his workshop laughing!!

enjoy

Birdhouses are both an endeavor and a pet peave for me… I like big ole' pines, oaks, lots of cover…that'l give birds, owls, hawks, yada yada yada anything they need. BUT, I like the idea of birdhouses…Is that weird? Whatever, this is a cool project! Make it to make your space look more interesting!!!!!!
