Project Information

Been a member on here for a while checking out other people's projects. I figured since I am calming on down on building things for my shop, I could finally be nice and build the furniture my wife wanted for the living room. I decided this would also be a good excuse to get some new tools. We settled on these plans I got out of Woodsmith. I am pretty happy with the way things turned out.

Congrats on the project, they're going to add a lot to your house. What sort of wood did you use,and why did you do for the finish?

I actually hand cut all of the mortises. It took a long time, but it was fun to an extent.

The wood is cherry with mahagony gel stain. I had to use a gel stain because the oil stains got way too blochy.

Great looking projects. I am looking to build an end table very similar to the one you built. Do you have plans for it?
