Project Information

I built this as an anniversary gift for my wife. The primary wood is cherry, the secondary woods are poplar for the case back and sides and maple for the top lid, base, and feet. The maple and poplar were ebonized using Transtint black dye. The finish is two coats of shellac followed by five coats of wipe-on poly.

Nicely done… but the problem with larger jewelry boxes is that ladies seem to enjoy filling them up with trinkets…

lovely box and I have to agree with dustyal. The larger the box the more jewelry they will buy to fill it up.

Beautiful jewelry chest! Great design especially the curved drawers and the pull up mirror. I'm sure she loves it. Great job!

I can't take all the credit for the design. I found a free plan online from Canadian Home Workshop. I did make a couple of tweaks to it, though.
