Project Information

DW has taken to making photo albums online from various places. The albums have been moved around the living room on a regular basis.. so I decided to make a place to keep them and and all the future ones. Saw this idea here posted by fawig and DW approved. I used Red Oak and Paduak, had a lot of fun with this project and of course learned a few new things and put some things that I keep reading about into this. I will post a little more about the build in tonight's blog. I used wood burning stamp letters for the lettering.

Thanks for looking.

Very cool idea. Not only does it keep everything organzied, but it put the photos on display for guests if they want to look at them. And the two types of wood look great together. What did you do the hold the joint together?

Thanks Tim. I did some glue and pocket hole joints. You can sort of make out the cherry plugs on the inside of the rack. My daughter loves to show off the albums when ever we have someone new over so this will be used many times I am sure.

Looks cool. We finished our camp last week. We made 260 Birdhouses and 260 planters out of cedar pickets.

Lots of pre-cutting but they were a success. In fact, the younger kids 6-9, did better than the 10 & 11 year olds. The younger ones actually listenned. we were able to make it all for under $650. Thanks to Home Depot for them helping us with discounts and donations.

It took us 48 man hours to cut all the wood pieces.
