Project Information
Pie Safe with a secretary style desk on top. Made from Pine, stained and finished with lacquer. I included a stained glass pen holder and box to hold 4" x 6" cards. Just put it in the coffee shop and hope it finds a home as quickly as the other one did.
I had a issue with the last pie safe I made. When I punched the tins for the door panels, each hole left a sharp edge on the inside. I ended up covering the inside of each tin with a piece of thin pine to cover the hole edges. When making these tins I used a spring loaded hole punch, the spring was strong enough to make a nice indention in the tin, but not strong enough to make a hole completely through the tin. And the spring hole punch made the process of punching the tins go a lot faster.
