Project Information

These two bowls are from the same blank, Australian Walnut, I don't know which species or variety.

The smaller bowl (Daughter) is 7in x 1.5in and my first attempt at texturing, and that is painted black.

Mother is 9in x 2.5in. Both are finished with Shellawax Glow.

Thanks for looking and C&C are welcome.

Bob.

Nice family of bowls Bob, and a great job for your first texturing, Which bowl saver did you use?

Hi Bob,
My Bowl-saver is a WoodCut job. It's very good but doesn't like VERY hard wood.

Timzo, I have no idea which type of walnut it is, Could be American Black Walnut for all I know, this piece came from a tree in South Australia. We learn something every day.

A couple of beauties here Bob, I think that you did a remarkable job on the texturing, what ever kind of walnut it is, it sure takes a nice finish. When you say mother and daughter, is it like it is here, the wife and daughter already consider it theirs.
