Project Information
Just thought I'd show how I create feet for my cutting boards. I pretty much eyeball the first one on the right side, then start designing. Once I get the squared dimensions, I start working my way down to the left, the start back on the right with refining whatever it is that shows up, when I start removing the wood, and again, move back towards the left. Last thing I do is cut down the tenon that fits into the board, and use the 3/4 open end wrench as my guide to sizing that tenon. Usually the feet end up at about 1.5 - 1.75" in height, and the tenons are a little less than the width of EasyWoods large straight cutter, then use a 1/16" pen sized parting tool, followed by a cheap pull saw to separate each foot.
They get sanded to 400 and then get finished after gluing into the tenon holes on the board. Same finish of mineral oil.
