Project Information
I built this table for my wife after she found one on pinterest that she liked. It is 38" wide and 84" long. I got the wood from the saw mill down the road. I was there picking up some stuff for work when I saw the stack of wide oak planks. The top is 1-1/4" thick red oak and has 4" tenons mortised into the bread board ends to keep it flat. I pinned the bread board ends with some burl dowels that I made, I thought they wood stand out but they get lost in all the mill marks. The whole base is from one poplar board. The through tenons are wedged with some burl also. I think my favorite thing about the table is the dovetails on the lower stretcher. They add kind of a timber framing feel.
