Project Information

I think that I have made many dozens of these over thirty-odd years, but I am always surprised by how brilliant the figuring can be on some of the woods that I select. (Fun to make these entirely with hand tools too, hogging off the waste of the tapered legs with a scrub plane before switching to a jack or something larger.) Shellac and beeswax finish.

I love this project! The wood is, of course, gorgeous. You can't go wrong with tiger maple. Your proportions look great to me. No dye before the shellac? What kind of shellac is that, garnet? Thanks for sharing it.
